Mental Health and Wellness: A Pulse@ChathamU Collection

With Pulse@ChathamU, we try to bring our Chatham community inspiring stories, of-the-moment updates, and helpful information about life on and around campus. To help support our Mental Wellness Wednesdays initiative, we’ve gathered together some of the past year’s helpful content centered around mental health and wellness below:

Seasonally Specific, but Evergreen Information:

Even though these articles were written to address specific times in 2020-2021, from the onset of colder weather to the start of the pandemic, they contain timelessly relevant information! Maybe your usual socially-distanced routine needs some fresh ideas, or you need a gentle reminder that pandemic stress shouldn’t be ignored. Check out these articles for tips you can use any time:

Experts Weigh In:

We’re lucky at Chatham to have faculty, staff, and students who excel in their fields of expertise. In these articles, we ask our on-campus experts to weigh in on subjects ranging from yoga to sensory gardens, job market stress to creating an exercise routine.

Don’t Forget the FUN

We’re not going to lie: sometimes taking good care of yourself (eating healthy foods, getting consistent sleep, keeping up an exercise routine) can be a bit of a drudge, even if it makes you feel better overall. So while you’re thinking about making changes to your lifestyle to support your mental wellbeing, don’t forget about letting yourself have fun! We hope the articles below will spark some joy:

While we’re on the subject of mental health, remember that the Counseling Center is here for you, with office hours from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Or, try the peer-to-peer support platform TalkCampus, where peers and professionals are available 24/7 to talk or text.
