How the Office of Student Engagement Gets Students Involved

Across Chatham University, there are offices ready to help students with various academic and extracurricular needs. The Office of Student Engagement, a part of the Office of Student Affairs, oversees the University’s student center, organizes its longstanding traditions, and supports student-run organizations on campus.

Emily Fidago, the director of the Office of Student Engagement, says the office loves to help students find ways to get involved on campus, whether by becoming a paid staff member of the Chatham Activities Board, starting their own student organization, or joining an existing group.

In the interview below, which has been edited for length and clarity, Fidago discusses what the office offers to students at Chatham.

The lounge which is accessible to students 24/7 with their Chatham ID, and the game room which has a regulation-size pool table, arcade machine, Nintendo Switch, electronic dart board, and more. We also have lawn games and board games that students can check out with their student ID.

Our office supports all of the student organizations on campus and can connect students with any of our active student organizations. Want to start your own student organization? We can help you with that process, too!

The Chatham Activities Board consists of four paid student coordinators who plan evening and weekend events on and off campus. We are always looking for students to share event ideas and assist with the planning and implementation of our events.
