Your Need-To-Know Housing Application Guide

Attention all accepted & deposited Chatham studentsMay 1st is the deadline to apply for priority housing consideration. In order to ensure guaranteed housing on campus, you’ll need to complete a housing application and pay a $150.00 housing reservation deposit. Chatham has a two-year residency requirement where all students who have completed less than four semesters of college or university are required to reside in on-campus housing for their first two years at Chatham.

Students who complete their housing application by May 1st will be placed into housing first and receive notification of their housing and roommate assignment (if applicable) by Mid-June. After May 1, all students who complete their housing application by June 1st are guaranteed housing, but will not receive this information until Mid-July. Anyone applying after June 1 will not be guaranteed housing on-campus and will be placed on a housing wait-list to be assigned when and if space becomes available.

In order to successfully complete this process, you’ll need to have access to your myChatham login. Below we outline the step by step process of submitting your housing deposit and application, check it out:

Step 1. Access the Housing Application

First, you’ll need to login to MyChatham.edu. If you’re having difficulty logging in, contact the IT HelpDesk at 412-365-1112 or services@chatham.edu. Once logged in, click on myTOOLS in the upper left navigation bar and selected Student Housing to access the housing portal. From the housing portal, you’ll need to click ‘Login’ followed by ‘CHATHAM-Student SSO Login.’

Step 2. Begin the Housing Application

Once you’re logged into the portal, you’ll select ‘Application’ and then the correct term that you are applying for. You will then complete your online housing application by following the system prompts. Click the purple SAVE & CONTINUE button for each page to complete the application. The initial sections include: Contact Info & Personal Details, Missing Persons & Emergency Contact, and the Housing Deposit/Registration Fee, where you can make your deposit and get your receipt.

Step 3. Make Your Selections

Next, you can choose whether or not you’re interested in living in one of Chatham’s Living Learning Communities (LLCs). Chatham offers an Honors Living Learning Community, a Sustainability & Environment Living Learning Community, and a Women’s Leadership Living Learning Community. The LLCs give students the opportunity to continue their learning experience outside of the classroom and build community with like-minded students. If you’re not interested in living in a LLC, please select the ‘I am not currently interested in a LLC’ option.

From there, you can indicate your residence hall choices in order of preference and then select your new student meal plan. If you’d like to learn more about each Chatham residence hall, click here.

Step 4. Complete a Roommate Questionnaire

When you complete the roommate questionnaire, answer each question honestly to ensure that you are matched with a roommate that suits your preferences and living style. You’ll also be able to create a user profile that allows you the opportunity to match with other incoming students and potential roommates. If a person seems like a good potential roommate match for you, you can connect with them in the housing portal to learn more. If you have a request for a specific roommate, the housing portal is where you can submit it.

Step 5. Complete your Housing Contract and Application Confirmation

In the housing contract, you will agree to the terms and conditions of your residency at Chatham utilizing DocuSign. You’ll need to initial several statements, type in your full name, sign electronically, and date the document. Once completed, click Save & Continue to confirm that the application is complete.
