NEW Leadership PA Will Bring Dozens of Students to Chatham to Learn Leadership, Public Policy
The National Education for Women's (NEW) Leadership Pennsylvania program, hosted by the Pennsylvania Center for Women & Politics, will bring dozens of students to Chatham University in May.
This week, 40 students from 22 different schools across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will attend the six-day leadership and public policy institute.
Students will hear from former State Representative Wendi Thomas, who is serving as practitioner-in-residence; Keratiole Mogotsi, Ph.D., the faculty-in-residence; and Allegheny County Treasurer Erica Brusselars, the keynote speaker.
Each year, students from colleges and universities across the commonwealth are selected to attend the program. NEW Leadership Pennsylvania is a part of a national network of NEW Leadership programs developed by the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.
The program addresses the under-representation of women in the political arena by focusing on the role of women in politics and policy making in Pennsylvania.
Funding for NEW Leadership Pennsylvania is provided by the EQT Foundation.
