Chatham University Prepares to Welcome Largest Undergraduate Class Ever

Chatham University will welcome the largest undergraduate class in its 157-year history this fall. When classes begin on August 24, 2026, more than 500 new undergraduate students will join the Chatham community, marking significant growth over last year and setting a new enrollment record.

The record-setting class represents the culmination of a decade of strong undergraduate growth at Chatham, during which the University’s total undergraduate enrollment has more than doubled.

“Chatham offers a deeply student-centered education that prepares graduates for lives of purpose and meaningful careers,” says Chatham University President Dr. Lisa Lambert. “We are delighted that so many students and families see the value of a Chatham education, and we can’t wait to welcome this historic class to our iconic and beautiful Shadyside Campus this fall.”

Additionally, Chatham continues to build on this momentum through several new initiatives that will expand and enhance the student experience this fall:

  • The inaugural season of two new NCAA Division III teams: men’s and women’s wrestling.

  • The reopening of Dilworth Hall following renovations, including new flooring, windows, furniture, and more.

  • The new Health and Human Performance Center and Athletic Annex at Chatham Eastside featuring labs and classrooms for exercise science and athletic training programs, along with training spaces for baseball and wrestling.

  • The launch of the new Falk College of Environment, Leadership, and Management (ELM), which brings together the expertise of the School of Business & Enterprise and the Falk School of Sustainability in a new college.

“This historic incoming class reflects the momentum Chatham is building,” says Vice President of Enrollment Management Brandy Gershon. “I’m incredibly proud of our admissions and financial aid teams, as well as every member of the Chatham community who helped prospective students experience the caring culture that makes Chatham so special.”
