Chatham undergraduate enrollment continues record-breaking growth

Based on preliminary enrollment numbers, Chatham University is pleased to announce that over 420 new undergraduate students enrolled at Chatham this fall semester—an increase of 10% over last year’s incoming class and the 2nd largest undergraduate class in over a decade!

In addition, the incoming class also claims:

  • The highest out of state enrollment across all genders.

  • Second largest undergraduate Falk School of Sustainability & Environment cohort.

  • Largest enrollment of transfer students.

  • Another growing and strong student-athlete cohort.

  • Largest alumni legacy cohort in over 5 years.

Thanks to ongoing undergraduate enrollment growth and positive retention efforts each year, Chatham’s total undergraduate enrollment has grown to 1,260—more than doubling over the past decade. In addition, Chatham is seeing strong and increasing demand across most academic programs this year including:

  • In the School of Health Sciences, the Pathways to Nursing and the online RN-BSN programs (including the launch of a new partnership for UPMC nurses) continue to grow.

  • In the Falk School of Sustainability & Environment, the Environmental Science and Food Studies (which launched in 2022) majors had another year of growth.

  • In the School of Arts, Sciences & Business, growth in business and communication programs continues in the Marketing, Management, and Communications majors, along with the continued popularity of majors in the arts and sciences.

“Over the past decade, Chatham’s undergraduate growth has been remarkable, and it is wonderful to see that growth continue again this fall semester. From our iconic Shadyside Campus to one of the world’s most sustainable college campuses at Eden Hall Campus, Chatham offers unparalleled locations in a vibrant city, an engaging campus life, and in-demand academic programs that help students thrive and grow.”
