Chatham earns top scores in 2020 Sustainable Campus Index

For the second consecutive year, Chatham University has been recognized in the 2020 Sustainable Campus Index for having the second-highest overall top performer score in North America (first in the United States) among master’s institutions.

A publication from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), the Sustainable Campus Index recognizes top-performing sustainable colleges and universities. Using the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System, institutions are given an overall rating and are ranked in 17 critical impact areas. In the 2020 assessment of 356 institutions, Chatham University has received a Gold rating and was highly ranked across all categories:

  • Grounds: Ranked 1st

  • Buildings: Ranked 3rd

  • Water: Ranked 4th

  • Investment & Finance: Ranked 5th
