Chatham Partners with the Mission Critical Institute for Cybersecurity

Chatham University and the Mission Critical Institute for Cybersecurity have announced a partnership to offer an Enterprise Cybersecurity Risk Management Certificate to address the increasing demand for cybersecurity talent in the healthcare space. With over 3.5 million cybersecurity position vacancies projected in 2021 across the U.S., the Mission Critical Institute for Cybersecurity and Chatham University partnership will help train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. The certificate helps address the growing need for cybersecurity talent to protect and defend the federal and state government and companies across the nation, while increasing the nation’s lead in cybersecurity and building a talent pipeline for companies to hire our graduates or upskill an existing workforce.

“The demand for cybersecurity is tremendous and our supply of talent lacking,” says Jeff Angle with the Mission Critical Institute for Cybersecurity. “There are over 4 million open positions in cybersecurity today with another 3.5 million open positions forecasted in 2021 and we cannot, as a country, as private industry or academic institutions, keep up with demand.”

“The demand for cybersecurity is only increasing as we become more reliant on technology and data, especially in Pittsburgh’s largest industries such as healthcare, technology and finance,” says Chatham University President David Finegold. “Mission Critical Institute’s Certified Cybersecurity Risk Management Professional is the perfect program to give students, alumni, partner institutions and companies the skills they need to protect and defend their IT and data infrastructure.”

The program is available for prospective companies and students for their October 26 cohort. Seating is limited and, you can find more information at cyber.chatham.edu.
